Mascara hacks: eyelash tips for mature woman

Mascara! My favorite makeup product (in fact, I’d not leave my house without it!) and is among the most well-known cosmetics available! What is the reason we are so in love with it? Because mascara is a simple and easy method of making our lashes grow longer and our eyes pop and enhance the overall appearance of our look! It’s also no secret that eyelashes with a beautiful face can make you appear and feel more attractive and younger! As we age, our eyelashes get older too! You may notice that the mascara you’ve adored for a long time isn’t as effective as it was, and your lashes haven’t gotten as long and thick as they used to be. Don’t worry; there are many hacks and tricks that you can employ to make your eyelashes appear fuller and longer. Here are some tips to help you start…

Select the appropriate mascara formula.

As we get older, our lashes tend to get thinner and more fragile, making it essential to select a formula that nourishes and protects your lashes. Make sure you choose mascaras with vitamins E, panthenol, and biotin. Be sure to stay clear of non-hypoallergenic mascaras (ones with preservatives) since they could irritate your eyes, causing you to scratch them more often, which can cause loss of your lashes! (And the final thing we would like to lose is the precious eyelashes that we’ve got!)

Beware of using waterproof mascara on a regular basis.

Suppose you find yourself staring at the eyes of pandas in the mirror every day. In that case, you might have resorted to waterproof mascara (because less Smudging and smearing is, of course). Still, waterproof mascara can be an absolute nightmare to get off (cue additional eye rubbing as you try to get it off, and it can cause aging of the eye’s delicate area!) The formulation can be more harsh on your eyes, causing your lashes to dry out and become more susceptible to breaking.

If you can, use long-wear mascaras that are water-soluble, and if you have to wear waterproof mascara (essential for pool and beach breaks), make sure you examine the ingredients and remove the makeup with a reliable removal product for eyelashes.

The false eyelashes are cut off.

If your lashes are thin and thin, you may be enthralled by the look of false lashes. But the truth is that the majority of false lashes are made with low-quality adhesives. The act of pulling them out can result in damaged and broken lashes. If you’re a woman over 50, this could mean more problems with lashes. Eek.

Curl your eyelashes but not using an eyelash curler.

It’s been suggested that we curl our lashes using an eyelash curler to provide an extra volume as well as lift to our lashes. However, it’s not a great alternative as we age since an eyelash curler may cause more damage than good and can cause already fragile eyelashes to break. Another popular method for curling your eyelashes is using a spoon made of metal. The spoon is pressed on the concave side, over your eyelid, over your eyelashes. Use your fingers to apply pressure to your eyelashes on the convex curvature on the spoon’s bottom. Make sure to hold your lashes for about 10 to 15 seconds, then repeat the process at the corners.

You could even use something like your fingers to curl your eyelashes as well! Close your eyes and then use your fingertip to pull your eyelashes towards the eyelid’s top gently. Make sure you keep the eyelashes up for 30 seconds before you let them fall.

Apply mascara

If you are a fan of your volumizing mascara but would like to add an extra length to your lashes, apply layers. Begin by applying a coat of thickening mascara that defines your eyes, after which you can use an application of volumizing mascara for added volume.

Wiggle your mascara wand.

Applying mascara, wiggle the brush in a circular motion on the roots of the lashes, ensuring that you are able to coat the mascara from the base and then pull it upwards until the ends. This gives the appearance of volume and thickness. It also provides length without creating the formation of clumps.

Don’t forget your lower lashes.

Most women concentrate only on the top lashes, leaving the lower lashes without mascara! Applying mascara to the lower lashes can create a look of younger, wide-eyed, open-minded look!

Stop using mascara that is expired.

As with everything, mascara will indeed expire in time, and when it does, it’s time to get rid of it and purchase another! Even if you believe there are a few weeks or months left. It’s not just that expired mascara can make it more difficult to apply without flaking or clumping; it may also hinder its capacity to increase the length and volume of the eyelashes and could cause lash loss (and we aren’t looking to shed many more lashes than is necessary, are we?) This is due to the fact that every time you apply your mascara, you’re pumping air into your mascara wand. This creates bacteria! This is because the bacteria that you put in your mascara may cause irritation and eye irritations when applied…cue eye irritation and rubs!

The life expectancy of mascara after using it in the beginning is three months. If you’re using your mascara on a regular basis, be certain to note when the 3-month mark has passed!

Do not pump the wand while applying mascara.

It’s so simple to pump the wand as you are planning to apply mascara. I’ve made this mistake numerous times, but since we think that this will involve the correct amount of product, using this method, you could let air in the tube, which can dry out the mascara early. Instead, it would be best if you twisted the wand around as you pulled off the line. This helps apply the makeup evenly without using up the product and allowing mascara to last a tiny more time!

Make use of spoons (or a card of some kind) to avoid mascara smudging.

If you’re susceptible to putting mascara on your eyes (and we’ve had it happen to us all), it’s simple to grab an old-fashioned cotton tip to wash it off; the constant tugging of the skin with cotton tips applied to the delicate eyelids can cause damage to your eyes that are already aging, so it’s better to make use of a spoon or a card of some kind (can use using a business card) to protect your eyes! Place it on your eyelid before applying mascara. This will prevent streaks and help ensure that your mascara stays neat.

If you’re seeking fuller, longer lashes or wish to keep clumps from forming, these suggestions and tricks will help you create the look you’re after. Give these a go. Your lashes will be grateful to you!
