Bargain Beauty Secrets That Make Julie Bowen Look 10 Years Younger
Julie Bowen has a birthday due this spring, and despite turning 44 in March, the Emmy-winning actress can quickly appear to be a decade younger due to her genuine use of a particular drugstore beauty item.

” Sunscreen is the number one thing on my list of products I use all the time and that I’ve always used,” Bowen shares with Everyday Health. “In the morning I clean my teeth clean my face, and apply sunscreen. I typically apply it three or four times per day to my hands and face.”

As she reaches the mid-40s mark, Bowen states that she’s much more comfortable in her skin than in her younger years. “I was uncomfortable with myself in my 20s,” she says. “I’m very settled with my kids now.”

In addition, Bowen says her complexion is much more beautiful than it did a decade ago. “It used to be oily and blotchy [when I was younger], but it’s settled down after my pregnancies,” Bowen explains.

Apart from wearing SPF daily, Bowen keeps the rest of her skincare routine easy. “I’m lucky if I can even get in the bathroom to wash my face in the morning,” Bowen says, the mother of three kids younger than 10. “I apply an easy cleanser and an washcloth. I’ve tried scrubs as well as brushes however, I find that the best solution is a washcloth.”

Even though she’s got little time left as a mother and a full-time actress, Bowen still fits in short exercise routines. “Before I had kids I practiced many yoga classes as well as running and swimming. I still love exercise, though it requires an incredibly long effort,” she says. “Now I’m driving through Los Angeles with a bag of running gear inside my vehicle. If I’m given 40 minutes before I need to take my kids at school, then I’ll pull over and run.”

Bowen also shops at the farmer’s market with her family on the weekends, stocking up on apples packed with cholesterol-regulating soluble fiber.

She also says that her children like simple, healthy, nutritious food. “Kids love things that are basic and boring. I made my children homemade French fries, and the kids thought that they were gross,” she says. “The one thing my mom had on the table every night was a big salad, and I do that with my kids, too.”
