Adidas Originals launches first-ever US college sneaker collection

Adidas Originals has unveiled its first-ever footwear collection explicitly designed for five National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) partner schools across the US to coincide with the beginning of the NCAA American soccer season.

The Adidas Originals “Rivalry’ collection is officially licensed colors of five NCAA schools: Grambling State University, University of Miami, University of Nebraska, Texas A&M, and the University of Washington so that fans and students can wear their university colors.

Adidas says more collections are scheduled to launch later in the season, with additional colors for universities and colleges. The collection features an iconic Rivalry shoe, which is rooted in basketball. The shoe is retro in style with a modern silhouette. The first five colleges’ are black, red, green, maroon, and purple shades.

The director of Adidas Originals basketball shoes, Peter Gellert, announced: “Adidas is at the forefront of this burgeoning cross-over between style and sport. This collection reflects our fashion culture being shaped and expanded across universities.

“It’s an exciting moment for fans, and there’s no better time or place to bring it to life than the start of the college sports season.”

The latest Adidas Rivalry colors are available from September 1 at 100 US dollars via Adidas’s website and app. Adidas website and mobile app.
