Worth It: Manolo Blahnik for Birkenstock

Manolo Blahnik, his niece Kristina Blahnik, and long-time Birkenstock shoe fans were invited to be photographed (opens in new tab). The photographs were taken for the German footwear brand’s 2020 Spring/Summer campaign. Soon afterward, Birkenstock CEO Oliver Reichert tapped the shoe designer and his niece-turned-brand-CEO to add that Manolo touch to the grounded Birks aesthetic.

“Birkenstocks are a staple in my wardrobe from the beginning of time!” Blahnik explained that Birkenstocks had been a part of my wardrobe since the beginning (of time!)

Although it may seem that Birkenstock and Manolo Blahnik are from different parts of the shoe design world, they have much more in common than you might think. Both are committed to comfort and high-quality craftsmanship. The collaboration includes Manolo Blahnik’s glamour through crystal embellishments on Birkenstock’s Arizona sandal and Boston loafers.
