British Fashion designer Clare Waight Keller, the previous artistic director for the luxury label Givenchy, will design her following collection with the Japanese brand Uniqlo.
The collection will launch on September 15th. The womenswear ‘UNIQLO: C’ collection will include “timeless designs, subtle use of color, and roomy silhouettes in contemporary materials,” Uniqlo parent company Fast Retailing revealed on Wednesday.
The collection features trench coats reimagined in gabardine twill, jackets and blousons that are lined, and a small shoulder bag with designs that are floral and paisley, as well as an elegant skirt made of satin with a glossy finish in vibrant autumn colors.
“I am very excited and honored to be able to design a new label for Uniqlo,” Keller stated in an announcement.
“I appreciate the Keller LifeWear concept and design philosophy, which focuses on technical innovation and functional authenticity.”
She also said: “To be able to work with the team to develop a new form of womenswear sensibility on such a global scale is a truly exciting opportunity.”
Keller was artistic director at the French luxurious company Givenchy for three consecutive years before taking a break in 2020.
